Bought a Samsung EVO 2TB 2.5 SATA SSD
I’ve installed and nothing it should show up in
MPC Live ll Places folder only showing the internal not my brand new 2TB Samsung EVO SATA SSD. So I took it out put it back in turned it off then on them off then on… then held power button down and reset then off and on… then hooked to MAC computer with two different cords… and NOTHING… 3 hours later… very annoyed and hope I didn’t buy a $200 SATA SSD for nothing. I did get the MPC Live ll from a reputable vendor was in Level:1 Mint condition and even upon opening the box looked brand new to me. Said it was an open box MPC LIVE 2 but I think it’s new, someone just brought it back…other than the SATA SSD issue not showing up, it works fine looks and runs great. I am lost needed a break from frustration and trying and trying on/off on/off reinstalling taking it out; resetting MPC Live ll.
I’m just mentally annoyed worn out. Figured I’d ask here. To see if I’m there is anything I can do more than what I searched for online. Seems like I am fresh out of options to fix this damn thing. Think I wasted $200 :-/ And have a drive installed for nothing… man it’s really annoyingly & terrible. hope someone smarter than me has a fix or simple solution to fix this. I even followed YouTube tutorial to make sure it’s done\installed correctly as I am always careful and do… please help someone LOL

* unless I didn’t push hard enough connecting the SSD I’ll try again after work I didn’t hear loud snap like most videos when people installed them didn’t click loudly like in tutorials maybe that’s it,if not I’ll be back here. May have been too careful installing it. Connecter wires were firm and such no one has ever messed with this MPC Live ll I can see it’s not been used so doubt bad connector/wires etc were totally new stiff looks untouched, plate wasn’t ever touched as well. No screwdriver scratches or use on screw heads idk

No I didn’t format it, I figured I’d format it on MPC Live 2
I’m gonna get a Sata reader after work and see if it shows oup on wife’s MAC computer.,if it does then good I’ll format it. If it does not then it’s the drive I guess. I just read you can connect it to MPC live 2 and format it on MPC. I also plugged it in to her computer via cable came with it. And it didn’t show up either. I also made sure it was connected tight and snapped into place before re installing SATA

It might need to be initialized before you can actually format it as ExFAT. On a Mac, use Disk Utility to initialize and format the drive before reinstalling into your MPC.

Open Disk Utility
Press Command + Space and type Disk Utility, then press Enter.
Find your SSD in the left sidebar under Internal or External drives.

Select the SSD (not a partition, but the whole drive).
Click Erase at the top.
Set the following:
Name: Whatever you like (e.g., “MPCSSD”)
Format: exFAT (Recommended for compatibility with Akai MPC)
Scheme: GUID Partition Map
Click Erase to format the drive.
Click the Eject icon next to your SSD in Finder.
Disconnect the SSD and install it inside your Akai MPC Live.

Ok great it worked thank you i appreciate it perfect now.
Also I notice power plug into rear of the MPC Live 2 has some play in it a little wiggly is that normal? I hooked up the power adapter restraint in back out of fear of it feeling loose.
