Sync looper pedal with different time sigs per sequence?

I figured out how to send midi clock out to Pigtronix Infinity looper pedal, and I figured out how to get a different time signature per sequence. Still on 2.12.2 OS btw. But, I cannot figure out how to get the looper pedal to sync up to the different time signatures, seems like it will not start a loop point when the MPC restarts the measure, it stays stuck in 4/4 (loop point in sync with measure start every 4 measures in 7/4).

My goal was to use the MPC to send click to IEMs and also midi sync to looper pedal for “mathy” two piece rock band, liked the idea of being able to make a custom “click track” by adding notes of drumsynth percussion to fit odd sections better than typical metronome auto click and setting up a string of sequences in song mode for songs with different time signatures per part.

Is there a setting I’m missing? Would upgrading to newer OS help? I’ve read 3.x doesn’t allow changing time sig per sequence. Do I have to figure out how to change bpm, # of measures, etc to fit weird time signatures into a 4/4 system? Thanks

OK, so think of midi clock as just a tick, it doesn't send time signature information. This is regardless of MPC firmware version.

So, from Pigtronic manual for the "Infinity 3" pedal

"MIDI Sync
When a MIDI Beat Clock is present, the Infinity 3 will synchronize its actions to the MIDI beat clock, acting as a slave device.Once a loop has been recorded with a MIDI Beat Clock, Infinity 3 will constantly readjust the loop length to stay synchronized. This active MIDI synchronization prevents drift, and guarantees that all synchronized actions happen on time at the start of MIDI measures.
This active MIDI synchronization is designed to work with regular MIDI clock signals that don’t change tempo or time signature. If the MIDI clock signal does change tempo, Infinity 3 will react and adjust the sample rate accordingly."

But then it says this:

"MIDI Time Signature
The Time Signature can be set on a preset-by-preset basis, or changed on the fly using MIDI commands. For quantization to the beat rather than to the measure, set the measure to a single note (eg. 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16)"

But then fails to tell you how to do it.
So maybe it's possible, but I don't know how you tell the pedal that the time signature has changed. But for now you'll need to stay on MPC2.X firmware to have access to different time signatures in the sequencer, anyway.

Akai have said they're looking into time sigs for mpc3.x [hopefully] late springtime

Midi CC 82 is "set multiplier" so maybe that's it? But it doesn't seem to say what you need to send or what the possible 128 values would mean to the pedal. I'd hazard a guess at the number of quarter notes? So sending a value of 3 puts it in 3/4? 4 for 4/4, 5 for 5/4 etc (up to 127/4? Lolz)

Don't know, just a guess. Send something on midi cc82 and see what it does.
