so I'm trying to make a "live set" project, is there a way to automate patch changes or similar way to achieve different sounds on the same track but in the next sequence ?

In a MPC 3 project, 1 track == 1 program, same across all sequences in the project. No automatic patch/program changes for internal instruments. If you are talking about MIDI OUT PC then it is just a PC message you can insert in the List view, it will not affect any MPC internal program.

If you do not like that then stay on MPC 2.

So that you only have to change the midi channel of your controller to access the next program.

Very late answer, I know. But with 2.15 it works. You set a programnumber, maybe banknumer as well in the root view of a miditrack in main veiw window. This one will be sent at the start of the sequence and not repeated when looping. When you start a new pattern with a new sequence, you can set there some different values that will be sent at the start of that next sequence.
With 3.xx this is global for all sequences, with 2.xx it is per sequence and channel.

I've just emailed them about this! I feel live os 3 is getting pretty good but there are still some annoyances coming fron 2.0..
