New MPC Device Listed in FCC Database

While checking the FCC, I came across a registered device with the ID Y4O-ACVG. It’s likely a new MPC device.

19v model, looks like it has a battery. Shape very much like an mpc live. Mpc live 3?

good work sir; but I see no L or W measurments of this device; how can we confirm its dimensions?

The exact dimensions are unknown at this point, but it is at least clear that it has a wide rectangular shape.

I am willing to bet this is indeed the MPC mini that was dismissed as hoax by the ever skepticle peeps on this forum

Seen it long time ago ( I think I've posted it here as well) ACVF / ACVG - always thought it's MPC Studio2 / APC64.
Maybe I was wrong , anyway, it seems that filling is new but the codenames were in the firmware for a quite some time.

Digging further in the documents submitted I found some interesting stuff. Internal mic - and MPE. Definitely gives Live 3 vibes

we already knew it was a live due to the shape; what new things did u discover while digging?

the key aspect to be determinded is the dimensions; as that will let us know what type of MPC live this device is.

MPE stands for Maximum Permissible Expousure - and it's just a report of antennas radiation.

If you click here you will see the associated documents that were submitted regarding this device you will see there is a document about an internal mic. There was something else described as MPE but I think that this is regarding the exposure of the device and not the Midi protocol .

The "MPE" in that document seems to refer to Maximum Permissible Exposure, not MIDI Polyphonic Expression.

The built-in mic is interesting, giving it a portable device-like feel.

Don't think MIC stands for microphone, it doesn't make sense in the context of RF Certification - usually it stands for Monolithic Integrated Circuit but who knows
As for portability, yeah... maybe it will be portable but definitely not mini. Certification label is 75mm wide while the device itself is at least 5-6 labels wide (maybe even more) - couldn't be bothered to measure it properly, so I've just eyeballed it

anyway, for some reason this filing doesn't give me goosebumps as the previous ones, maybe just because there is not much in the firmware for now (there is a lot more for ACVK than for this one iirc).

that is a big clue cos the MPC Live does does not have a built- in mic, nor does the Live 3.

But the SP404 does have a built- in mic; so that shows that Akai are looking to compete with those mini beatmaking devices such as Abelton Move and the SP404.

So the built in mic gives credance to the live mini theory.

Well the MIC is categorised under the "schematics" exhibit type and not RF exposure info lol. Although I have started doubting that MIC stands for microphone as all letters are in capital. Anyway let's keep the meme/hype machine going. I love these threads.
