MPC Live: troubles after downgrading from 3.4.3 b to 2.15.1

Hi,
I wanted to give the new software a try but preferred to revert back to 2.15.1 on my MPC Live I.
Since then I'm having occasional power downs, which are appearing as "you didn't shut off your device properly..." or something similar, giving me the option to reload my last project.
I'm not sure if this is a hardware or software issue, I just know my old MPC has always worked no problem and nothing weird has happened to her.
Anyone else?
Will try to be more specific next time I meet the same issue.
And of course, there's a live gig coming next week

Hi I'd like to know what's going on here too as I haven't upgraded my live 1 to 3.0 yet as I just need the machine to be super stable!

Have you tried resetting preferences and checking that the internal drive isn't too full?

I wonder if something has become corrupted in the process of upgrading/downgrading?

His Key 61 kept powering down, and then the "you didn't shut off your device properly" message kept appearing upon restart. We don't know what caused it, nor do we know what the solution was. It just stopped happening.

same here, it's not happening anymore.

The MPC Live is alive

Mine is MK1, most probably from the very first batch, had not a single issue so far.
Amazing piece of gear.

Usually a Good Ol Fashion "Preference Reset" solves most User Induced problems

Erase your mpc settings / factory reset. IIRC when this happens it's becuse it loads a malformed mpc configuration file.

It just hit me, this is a bug. the mpc should delete the internal MPC.settings configuration file when we install a new firmware, but it doesn't, and when downgrading it causes a problem. Sadly its too late to fix as it is baked into every rom to date.

thank you all for the feedback and advice. I think it's good to report that it looks like the issue was automatically fixed as it never appeared again after my report.
I've recorded, played live and switched it on and off several times without seeing it once again.
If I had to do it again, I would certainly perform a general reset though.
