I am lost! Had to buy the new bible 3

I haven't touched the mpc live 2 for 6 months, personal reasons. Now I just updated it, and I cannot find the main screen I used to start out on. On the new screen, can't even find adding pads, so I just bought the updated bible 3 and now have to print it out all over again, two reams of paper, about a week!
To change the main screen was not right that after we learn this difficult machine they change everything like that!

You could've stayed on 2.15 or watch some 3.0 getting started videos. Good luck with the Bible.

LMFAO. word @ the OP. I am keeping my current mpc on 2.xx version. I am not willing to give up the traditional mpc workflow yet. I feel like these devices were designed to be used with the 2.xx workflow and the 3.xx software doesn't fit the control input interface any longer. There's now things that should have dedicated buttons that are hidden in shift combos its just akward. Not unlearnable, but not for me on the og mpc one.

Also @ tutor, you should now add a 2.xx sub forum, and 3.xx sub forum and move the 2.xx mpc legacy posts into there and the 3.xx into its own so we can keep the 2.xx information seperate even though there is some overlap, we can consider 2.x finished. Us 2.xx folks are legacy users now. Dinosaurs.

To be fair, I use 3.xx and I'm a legacy user - but for reasons entirely unrelated to any Akai product.

I defo agree; the main screen change I dont like but, but alot of the new MPC users prefer the new main screen.

I like the force mixer; and I like the colour change on the sample edit screen

like, a complete overhaul of the workflow and UI and they don't even warn users who really don't know what is going on.

You can downgrade back to 2.15.1 if you wish, but I would suggest sticking with MPC3 for a while so you can test it out and become comfortable with the UI and changed features. MPC users expect an MPC experience.

i did not mean that the update is literally 'automatic' .. but that it's just displayed with the same message as any other update. no warning at all about how it's gonna break parity with the desktop software or completely change the workflow

it is just weak customer relations on inmusic's end ;p
