Activations while on tour.

Hello all.
I'm getting ready to go on the road and using an MPC Live as my sampler/synthesiser (not as the main sequencer). It's worked well before but I wanted to add in some sounds from paid instruments - Fabric and OPx4. I'm noticing that the box is authorizing these instruments each time I turn it on. That's bad.

Can I confirm that the activations are happening over WiFi each time I start up the machine? In which case I can't rely on there being WiFi.
Does anyone have a solution, better than resampling the instruments (which is kind of pointless)?

Are you saying it asks for authorisation every time you turn on your MPC, even if you are online? That sounds like you have a deeper issue beyond the usual random de-authorisation bugs that people normally experience. Contact Akai to see what they suggest. Are you running 3.4.3?

Probably not helpful: I have the MPC One ( with ethernet) and never had to reactivate any of my plugins.
I am logged in on the MPC / my account, after activation or upgrading I just pulled the plug.
Can you disable WiFi? Which system version do you use?

Yes I am running the latest beta OS.

I've just done a run through of deactivating everything, logging out of AKAIPRO, re-entering the code given by the machine at the AKAIPRO website and activating everything again. It LOOKS like this has solved the problem but I'll be testing it a while longer!

Could be something to do with my OS upgrading, I'll report anything useful.

This has happened to me for about two years now across a few different firmware revisions. It wasn't always this way, but now whenever I turn the thing on - regardless of whether or not it's connected to the Internet - it tries to reactivate plug-ins. I've talked to several Akai agents about it (level one, level two, and techs at various departments) and went through some fairly detailed reset processes. In the end, nothing changed it and they ended up giving me a coupon for a discount on a new unit.

Here's the kicker - bought a new unit and still run into the issue with increasing frequency. I've given up trying to use the plug-ins live.

I have a MPC One and use this setup to get Internet access without an Ethernet cable (I even do updates this way):

I take a mobile phone with Internet access and turn on USB tethering.

Maybe the Live can be convinced to do the authorisation on this network.

Going on tour with any beta is risky; even moreso with MPC3. Combine that with the authorization problem... even riskier.

I'd suggest rolling back to 2.15 if you can. Either way, break a leg.

RTC messes with the file creation timestamp of the licence tokens (internally on az01-internal) and the software tries to obtain the licences again. It's because you're moving through time zones. Stop plugging it into the internet if you can, or disable networking in the settings.

The next day it said "License error, reactivate" on all items, then that disappeared and the ACTIVATE buttons came back. So I think plugins are not a good idea. I'll report it to AKAI when I find the right web page.
Fortunately it's just a few sounds needed so I'll go ahead and resample them and use that.

I understand that beta software is a bit wobbly, but the box is only being used for sample playback, which it's doing nicely in rehearsals and seems happy at that level. The hardware itself has been around the traps a few times now and has been rock solid. Cheers.

Now it's working, even with WIFI turned off. Probably needed time to sort itself out.
