Internet conection issues (MPC ONE)

I've struggled getting my MPC to connect to the internet at my house for a over a year now. It says connected but it really isn't.. I used to bring it to my moms to update and plug it into their router and it worked instantly...but she's moved recently.

Saw you can use tethering with android , which I don't use but had an old one lying around...I charged it up but USB tethering is greyed out (unavailable). Can't figure out how to enable it either...

I've messed around with changing IP addresses in the manual connection mode.
Obviously my internet works via ethernet with my PC and gaming console..and wifi works with my phone and iPad..it just HATES my MPC ONE for some reason...
I'm just at my wits end trying to update this thing and use some of the new plugins I've bought.

Any advice?
