I've been using a guitar looper to capture ideas for many years. However the transition to DAW, having to transfer and audition loops, along with my general distaste for mousing and clicking while creating music finally led me to this point.
I've searched this forum for similar threads and I don't think it's possible to fully replicate something like a two track looper just using a MIDI footswitch. I.e. record/overdub/play on one button, switch tracks on another, reverse tracks, hold to clear (or dedicated clear button if possible). But if someone has done it, let me know! I use a Boss RC-5 and TC Ditto+. I have a Nektar Pacer MIDI pedal which is quite flexible.
Another thing I wonder about is incorporating the Beatstep Pro for sequencing/performing. I think the sequencer has some features/accessibility that the MPC One lacks, and then using the Control mode, I could hopefully add 16 more real time controllers and maybe even the push buttons could do something.
Interested to hear what other people have managed to get going.
