Completely new MPC user here.

Hi, community. Being lurking this forum for about several months. Just bought, unpacked and settled new MPC key 37(no luck with buying 61-key version). Why did I do that? Well, searching the internet, I found, that there're no decent sequencer with keys(Keystep Pro is kinda buggy), except MPC key 37 or 61.
I have a bunch of gear(Elektron's OT, AR, A4, Boog, Nord). I have a hope to make them happy, being slaves of my MPC key. 3.6 firmware was installed, have no errors so far.

Various styles. I think, IDM mostly.

After a night, spent with this beast I can definitely say, I need bass synth. VA basses like TubeSynth or Hype in this machine are not so good.

Yeah, i might do this. I just need to do learning curve and then, optimise actions to do things faster. But anyway, this unit is my salvation. I can now do complex things which I couldn't do with my OT as main sequencer.

I love key37 - it's awesome. Grind, grind, grind on it till you work it out...(i'm still grinding on mine even after nealry 2 years - it's a big machine inside, and lots to learn!)

Alternative to a plugin on the synth is to get the behringer model D (or similar) and connect output to input of Key37. The Midi-D plugin is pretty good though, but there's still some magic in the real analog stuff.

Already have it. Awesome synth, but lack of pwm. I'm considering to buy in the future something from Dreadbox synths. 1st, I've decided to explore sounds from internal plugins. Exploring now FabricXL(yes, purchased it too), pretty good pads and textures.

Maybe give the sub factory a try. It‘s the synth
I use when i want to use a plugin for basslines. But i end up mostly using a hardware synth for this. All the synth plugins, except op4, are missing a proper mod matrix.
So it is difficult to achieve things that you can do with a nord or a virus in 5 minutes.
Btw i‘m doing psytrance. Snappy powerfull basslines are very important in this music.

Do you have already a class compliant audio interface to get all the sound of your synths into the mpc? Like this you can have up to 32 audio ins for your synths. And all the fx of the mpc on them.

Well, as this beast is new in my zoo, I’m still using old school MainStage and motu 828. I planning to use mpc mostly as sequencer. Already sorted out with program change per sequence with my elektron machines.

It‘s a great sequencer for synths.
I only do sequencing, the drums and mixing with all the fx on the mpc. The rest of the sound is coming all of my synths. Works like a charm.

How do you get all 32 ins into the MPC? All I manage to do is get 8 audio tracks which means a max. of 16 ins (stereo).

What i found unsuitable for me in AkaiOS, is that very frustrating way to switch between sequences(by knob turning). Is there another way, or should I get the Pro pack ? I did watch several youtube videos of clip launching and manipulating and found it comfortable for me. I used to my Octatrack, where I can instantly switch between patterns and, whats important, I see all of them on the panel.

What's your issue with turning the knob to switch between sequences? If you're talking about when recording out the song, you can use song mode. The data knob is a feature that's very helpful and I couldn't imagine using my Key 61 without it. I never imagined that someone else would have a complaint about it. To each his own, but I think you might be on the right path investigating using clip launching. That involves more of the touch screen unless you're on the Live 3 which has dedicated controls I believe.
