Am I tripping, or are layer crossfade options B and C labelled incorrectly?

Tested in an MPC Live 3 using MPCe modulation:

1. Drum track, select A01. Set up 8 speak and spell number samples on layers 1-8 (‘one’, ‘two’, etc, just so I can easily distinguish which layers are playing).
2. Set Layer play to crossfade B (1+5, 2+6, 3+7, 4+8)
3. In MOD MATRIX, set Pad X to modulate Layer Crossfade X, pad Y to modulate layer crossfade Y

The result is bottom pad along x-axis gives 1, 2,3, 4. Top of pad along x-axis gives 5, 6, 7, 8. But this seems more like layer crossfade type C

And if I switch to type C, moving along the x-axis on the bottom of the pad gives me a blend of 1+5, 2+6, and along the x-axis at the top of the pad gives 3+7 then 4+8. This seems like crossfade B, not C.
