MPC Live 3 kits on MPC Live 2

Are all the expansion packs for the Live 3 MPCE kits?

I was thinking of buying some of the newer kits like Faded Reels for black friday and exporting them from the software to my MPC Live 2 but I’m confused if this would work or not.

Has anyone tried this yet?

They will not support MPCe unless it specifically says so. I'm not aware of any expansions that support MPCe ....yet...

So if I buy the new NI packs from Akai they ‘should’ work on my MPC Live 2 if I export them from the software?

Forgot to mention I’m running version 2 not 3 on my Live, I hope that doesn’t automatically rule it out.

I just looked into it, I think they are all plugins instead of the usual expansions we’re used to, so they wont work sadly

Not a plugin, definitely an expansion. From this review, he’s running through it in mpc software 2, so probably fine, but check with akai, perhaps they updated it to xtd instead of xpm but I very much doubt it

The history of Expansions for the MPC will forever hurt my head

I just found out Sonic Boom was an actual expansion and not a plugin the other day -_-
