Choke (Pad Mute Target) across tracks - How to.

Y'all probably know how to do this, but I got so stuck and chased my tail for so long I figured i'd post it on the off chance I'd save another poor soul some time.

Classic example is using a closed hi hat to mute or 'choke' an open hi hat.

1: Track 1, load a drum program, lets call it 'Hats'.
2: Hit the EDIT button (or double tap the screen where the sample wave is) to get to the program edit window
3: On the 'Global' page, assign Mute Target (a per pad function) as required.

For Example - Closed Hats on pad A01, Open Hats on pad A02: On Closed Hats pad A01, assign the Mute Target as A02 (you can choose up to four targets). When played, the closed hat will mute/choke the open hat.

4: Create a new Track, (Track 2). Make sure Track 2 is a drum program - !! but do not load a program into it !! Leave it empty.
5: Long press the track name, this brings up the 'Midi Settings' window. Under Midi Routing > Midi Send, select 'Hats'.
6: Repeat for Track 3, also an empty Drum type track, also Midi Send to 'Hats'
7: Program your Closed Hats in Track 2, and your Open Hats in Track 3.
8: In Track Mute, set it to 'Event'. Mute Tracks 2 and 3 to your desire - ignore Track 1.

I perform using track mutes, so i have separate tracks for my closed and open hats

I'm sure there a tons of other use cases for this, but i'm a simple person.

You can configure in the new track to send the notes from its arrangement to an existing program used in another track, thus reusing the program from the other track in the new track.

Are talking about the MIDI Send feature found in the Track Settings?

That is the one. I use it to send the midi data of one track to a program defined in another track, thus using the same program in two different tracks.

Yes, this is indeed all the same thing. I just wrote it out long form for brains like mine that need specific instructions after years of listening to repetitive music while running around in the dark chasing ghosts and pills.
