Sampling via USB-C in controller mode

Hey everyone,
Got my Live 3 yesterday and absolutely love the work flow. In standalone mode, I have been able to track sounds from my laptop via the USB-C input options so I can essentially sample anything that comes out of my laptop. When I want to use the MPC 3 software on my mac, I switch to controller mode but I can't see the USB-C input option. I can still hear the audio from my laptop via the Live 3 but for some reason I can't seem to be able to sample it this time round. Is there a way round this? I have used a USB-C to TRS connector from my Google Pixel to the Input 1/2 but it doesn't appear to register any sound when i use the Sampler or Audio modules.

Well...don't keep the solution all to yourself.

What did you do because I am having the same issue, in standalone I see the usb input and can sample with no problem but in controller mode when I try to sample I don't see any usb input, but I can hear the sound coming from my computer I just can't sample it.
