Hello everyone, I'm looking for any resources to assist with bulk saving/loading/editing custom MIDI banks for external equipment. Specifically, I want to use my Fantom XR as an additional sound source for my MPC Key 61.
I have experience using instrument definition files within Cakewalk Sonar, where I could load all of the banks. program names and LSB/MSB info into the software and easily click to select programs. Even for my current main DAW, Studio One, someone created a method for loading those definitions into Studio One, which drastically sped up the workflow.
I've previously used my Fantom XR with my MPC 500 and MPC One, along with other synths, so I'm familiar with how it all works. I typically store patches in the Fantom Performance mode for each song.
Now with 3.6, I decided to try just creating a folder on the MPC with every patch saved as a MIDI track, which is very simple for one patch. However, I realize that doing this for every patch on this box will take forever.
My questions are as follows -
1) Does anyone have a resource to access premade XPM files for external synth patch banks? This would be similar to the Instrument definition files available in the old Sonar.
2) Is there a way to bulk edit MIDI patch data and export that data to XPM files?
My current solution is to simply create an XPM for each bank and just use the Program Change number to scroll through each bank using the documentation if I want to find a specific patch, and maybe save individual patches as I go.
Either way any helpful comments would be appreciated
