Kontakt Plug-In: Pads, External Keyboard, and On-Screen Keys

Requesting some clarification here! Below is my equipment and concern.

Setup
• Akai MPC One+ running MPC 3.6
• Kontakt 8 Player loaded as an MPC plug-in
• Novation Launchkey 25 Mini connected via 5-pin MIDI DIN Out into the MPC 5-pin MIDI DIN In
• All MIDI is read, interpreted, and recorded by the MPC

Observed behavior

When playing a Kontakt instrument, the physical keyboard, the MPC pads, and Kontakt’s on-screen keyboard do not line up with each other.

Pressing a key on the physical keyboard triggers a different key on the Kontakt on-screen keyboard. The same mismatch is present when triggering the instrument from the MPC pads. Notes do play, but the visual and musical correspondence between controllers and Kontakt’s keyboard is not consistent.

Additional context

I do use Pad Perform on the MPC to change pad layouts and behavior, but I’m not certain whether this is related or expected. This is all still new to me, so I’m not assuming it’s a bug — I just want to make sure I’m understanding MPC’s MIDI behavior correctly and not working against the intended design.

What I’m trying to understand

I’m not trying to identify whether this is pitch-, octave-, or note-number-related — I’m only describing what I’m seeing.

I’d like to know:
• Is this expected behavior due to MPC’s MIDI implementation when using plug-ins?
• Or is there a setting that allows plug-ins to receive unaltered MIDI input so that pads, keys, and the on-screen keyboard align?

Any clarification from users experienced with MPC + Kontakt would be appreciated.
