I have the MPC key 61
With the MPC 3 software you hvae the possibility to work with clips in the matrix view. Can one asssign a fysical button to this view in order to avoid going into menu first and press the screen button evry time?
Would be very helpful.

Thanks

You cannot assign a hardware button. Options are:

1) Assign the MATRIX shortcut to the left hand shortcut bar
2) position the MATRIX shortcut on the first MENU screen and then access by holding down MENU + pad. For example, if you put it in the bottom right position, you can access via MENU + [pad 4].

To change shortcut position, go to MENU, hold down on the MATRIX icon and drag to new position.

I got option 2 to work.
But what is the left hand shortcut bar and how to assign to it?

In MENU, drag the MATRIX icon to the very far left column (where there are 5 shortcuts). This is the column that shows on the left hand side in MAIN.
But then go to PREFERENCES > GENERAL and check SHOW MODE SHORTCUT PANEL. Now you'll see a thin bar on the left hand side, you can pull this out to access those 5 shortcuts in most screens,

Works especially nicely with pad 8, 12 or 16 (depending on MPC model), because then shift+pad is a one-handed manoeuvre, even with my small hands.
