MPC Key 61 and Cubase

Good day everyone. I just recently purchased an MPC Key 61 and my DAW of choice is Cubase. I am having a little bit of difficulty using the MPC plugin as a vst and use the Key 61 as a Midi controller at the same time. If I set the track settings to use any of my other connected midi devices it responds perfectly except for when I try to use the Key 61. Does anyone have a solution for this? In essence, I want to use he MPC software like I use the Maschine software.
