Hi Folks,

First post - new to the MPC world (but three decades deep in music tech on both sides of the counter). I recently purchased a used MPC One Retro and am having my first week's honeymoon with it, whilst watching numerous YouTube videos. I'm on firmware 3.8 without problems and successfully registered it to my InMusic account.

Question regarding add-on licenses activations.

Are additional licenses added permanently to the serial number of the unit or do they belong to the InMusic account? I'm planning to buy a second MPC One (seems to be a great way to perform live sets), and I'm curious if upgrade purchases will activate OK any units I have registered to my account.

Also, I do not seem to have the ability to add the MPC Pro Pack to my MPC One. I can see it listed in the Activations page on my unit, but there is no means to activate a trial for it, nor can I see purchase options for it within InMusic account. i'm keen to get on having Clip Matrix functionality .... am I right to assume MPC One owners are locked out from using Clip Matrix?

Cheers!

When you purchase a plugin the licence is linked to your account and can be installed on up to three devices that you own (i.e. that you are logged into). The only licenses that are tied to a machine are any premium plugins that came with the machine, for example if your MPC can with a 'Fabric' licence then if you sell the machine the Fabric licence goes with the machine, you lose access to it.

There is no trial for the pro pack. You have to buy it from the 'pro pack' purchase page on the akai web site. After purchase it will be added to your account and will be available to activate on your MPC One, which fully supports the clip matrix.

The Force is currently the best unit Force clips. You can used the 64 pads to copy/delete clips super fast, unlike the MPC that has to used the slow pop-up menu.

Here's a YouTube Short showing how fast the Force can copy/delete 64 clips:

Also all gen1 MPCs can get clips if you pay $200 for the Pro-Pack.
