So i've been tooling around with my Force and creating loops from a wide variety of sources.
I created a cool bass with the internal synth, Hype, along with a huge heaping of delay and a tiny smidge of reverb from the internal effects selection.
Next, I looped my Korg M3 and created a gorgeous string section.
Next I found a awesome set of rock drums from my large collection (120gb and growing). I recently found Dooley Drums and his loops are equally as good. $5 a month well spent. I added intros, fills and a variety of rock beats that all work nicely together. I made sure to keep it within a few BPM of the tempo.
Next, I looped a variety of synths from my Ipad Pro (Korg M1 app, Magellan 2, Moog and more). I have absolutely scores of top quality synths, drum machines, groove boxes and others on my Ipad, but the synths play center stage here since the Force is a seriously good groove machine and loop creator/player.
I also played some solos with my Ipad synths by attaching a MIDI master keyboard to the iPad via USB A cable.
I plugged the Force into my X18 Air 18 channel mixer/sound card going into my Alienware Laptop (gaming laptop with core i7 octacore, 32gb ram, etc). The mixer is controlled via either the Ipad or PC software - it has no real sliders or knobs. Just a ton of inputs and a large antenna. It also can become its own hotspot - which is how I use it.
I then opened my favorite DAW, Mixcraft 9 Pro (I have most of the others, including Presonus Studio One Pro 3, Samplitude Pro 11, Nuendo and others, but I prefer Mixcraft to all of them) and activated the channels the Force was attached to.
I instantly received signal showing that I had a solid connection. I armed the track and started freestyle playing the Force and the recording was absolutely clean!!!
I LOVE IT! It is a great way to record songs until song mode/arrangement mode arrives.
It will also allow me to create most of the productions on the Force and then play my orchestra libraries, groove machine virtual instruments, etc with the recording.
I assume I will slice the audio I record with the Force so I can then tempo sync with my on-board virtual instruments.
This is going to be FUN!
