How to enable sample X-Fade

How do I enable the X-Fade option in the Sample Edit screen? I tried disabling loop lock and enabled one-direction sample looping and yet the X-Fade option is still grayed out. Anyone know how to use this feature?

I found out that I needed to adjust the start point. If its 0 the xfade will be disabled.
