Midi Sync: Force - DJ Standalone.

Hello friends,
I'm thinking in my setting using a Dj Standalone (all-in-one) like the ones from Pioneer or Denon next to my Force, just to avoid using Laptop. The key point is the Midi-Sync... do you have any information about it?
Do you know of anyone who has used this setup? Is there any Dj Standalone that is recommended.

I have never used the Force with one of those units but I can't imagine that you won't be able to sync them. I use the Force in combination with lots of hardware and have been able to sync it with everything.

I would just make sure the unit has midi in / out and you should be fine. If I was selecting a unit I would prefer it to be USB midi compliant, but even with 5 DIN midi it should sync no problem.

Can't help on the recommendation of the unit as I don't use them, but I can say that the new Serato software update with Stems looks pretty cool and from what I hear they make decent gear.

There are ways to do that, depending on the DJ gear.

As you will find Pioneer DJ is standard in most clubs around the globe, this one would require a Pioneer/Toraiz SP-16 or DJS-1000 to sync from the PRO DJ LINK protocol to MIDI.

This also means the Force will have to be MIDI slave for the SP-16, as for the DJs-1000 it should be possible to run the setup with the Force as master (didn't try this scenario as I do not have a DJS-1000).

I"ll do this with my hardware setup for hybrid DJ/live sets. It works, though there are some drawbacks, such as you will have to re-sync the SP-16 every now and then, if you wanna make sure you're in sync with tracks played from the CDJs at all times. Performing regularly, this doesn't bother me though — I am well used to checking on correct sync between CDJs and hardware during my sets.

For the rare case of using Denon DJ gear, those have (at least for certain models) Ableton Link integrated. Can't say how well this works, as I never used Denon DJ gear, though their stuff looks great on paper.
