Recording does not work in a project.

What could be the reason if I can't record clips (plugins) in a project? I can start the recording workflow, but only the play icon is displayed instead of the record icon. What could block the recording?

The track needs to be record armed. Go into the mixer volume/pan page and you will see solo mute and Record Arm buttons ( a button with a large dot). Click that and you should be good.

Just FYI, While you can record arm tracks in the mixer window, don't forget that there is a dedicated record arm function for the bottom buttons also, just press the "record arm" function button on the bottom left and then the bottom button for each track can be turned on/off and will illuminate red when armed.

I personally find it much easier to arm tracks this way but that is just personal preference as doing it in the mixer window achieves the same result, just advising to make sure you know there are two ways to go about it.
