noise/crackle when turning the volume knob?

I purchased a used Force and it produces noise and crackling when I turn the volume knob (the headphone volume is unaffected). Is that a hardware problem or could it have something to do with my setup? Thanks!

I had the same thing, wiggled the knob a few times and it was gone. It’s probably dust.
