force automate filter or other in track / program edit mode

Hi I'm new to the force as I just switched over from an mpc one

Im not sure - its possible but I used to do it on the MPC

but can you automate (record) parameter changes in a track edit mode? or even plug in synth mode without setting the parameters to macros?

So like plug-in synth resonance or the filter on a keygroup?

just pop the nobs into screen mode and and set master automation to write -

im loving the force
