Doing preliminary tests today as I just got the Audient. Systematically going through all I/O. So far it's looking very stable, no pops or clicks testing on a preloaded stock project.

Force: Firmware 3.3
Audient: 128 buffer, 44.1khz sample rate. All tracks set to DAW in the ID mixer. (Except one headphone out is set to main mix so I have a control for testing). Then "save settings" to the device. Turned Audient on before the Force. Cycled through the outputs on the Akai Force, could hear changes across the outs on different H/Ps.

Sounds stable at the moment. About to test the ADATS I/O and Analog inputs.

Will update this thread as testing continues.

The buffer you're talking about only exists in the host i.e. DAW computer software. Over USB, at 44100 Hz sampling rate, each 1 ms frame must contain either 44 or 45 samples, as far as I understand what is said on usb.org.

The Force is the host (it's a Linux box really) and runs at 128ms, IIRC. Mockba allows you to change that value is how I know. However I am running vanilla 3.3 OS. Had no issues with my tests either so far. Going to wrap up my tests this week and post final results adter an extended sampling and playback session as a stress test.

With the ID44 mkII it keeps its settings if you save settings to device before powering down from the computer. Same with routing in its mixer. The smaller audients cannot do that. Only the ID44 has the true standalone mode in that range of Audients. As I understand, because the Force is running 128 buffer, it syncs fine at 44.1khz. Let's not get into semantics here and miss the Forrest for the trees. All I/O appear to be working stable when connected to the Force. What I need to test next is as many I/O as possible going at once over a prolonged period of time.
