Actually. Discontinuing the whole product is the final feature I wanted. Now it's sealed and the only thing left to do is make music. No more hoping for fixes or anything. All bugs have now turned into features. That's your instrument, now go and use it.

I never stop using it & I still want that last update, but if a new model is coming then whatever. Hopefully the new Force won't long lasting bugs. Not as great as bugless, but being able to fix things faster is good enough.

Haha, yes - my neon green Roland Aira gear ain't going anywhere... It is what it is - just like my daughter's piano.

That said, the complexity of our DAW-in-a-box is an order of magnitude above "simple instruments" and they are software - a recipe for expectations of maintainance and evolution.

Sad about the force, its the device I covet most of all. I will make it a point to get my hands on one now.

Akai is current working on a new major firmware update for the Force & will add many if not all of the missing MPC features/plugins. There's been a private beta going on since like Feb 2025. Hopefully it'll be out in May when the MPC3 PC beta software comes out. Go to Akai's Instagram for the message they posted.

I ran with the MV8000 a decade after it went out of production.

I only gave it up when the MPC LIVE hit OS 2.4

I’m fine with it not supporting these MPC FX, they just need to clean the bugs/crashes
