Hi everyone,
I’m new to the forum and have been exploring the discussions here. I’m a big fan of the Akai Force, and I’ve been working on a personal project that I believe could be really useful for many of us.
I have developed a utility that helps bridge the gap between the Akai Force and Ableton Live by converting project files.
What the tool does:
Full Project Parsing: Reads Force .xpj projects (including the associated _[ProjectData] sample folder).
DAW Readiness: Builds a ready-to-open Ableton Live set with all samples automatically copied and linked.
Structure Preservation: Recreates the Clip View / Session structure, including scenes, clips, and the clip matrix layout.
Arrangement Mapping: Exports Arrangement / Song View MIDI where the project contains it.
Data Integrity: Preserves note probability settings from Force clips and maps track volume, pan, mute, and track colors where available.
Instrument Mapping: Handles drum racks (including samples and multi-layer pads) and recreates keygroups with velocity layers and correct root keys. It also includes an OSC → Wavetable conversion feature.
Broad Compatibility: Supports both older and newer Force project formats.
Since I’m new to this community, I want to make sure I’m following the forum rules properly before I share anything.
Guidelines: I’ve read the terms, but I wanted to double-check with the moderators: Is it acceptable to share a community-developed tool here?
Community Interest: Is this something you guys would be interested in seeing or testing?
The tool is completely free, and my main intention is to give back to the community and help fellow users with their workflow. There is an optional "support/donate" feature for those who wish to support the development, but the tool’s functionality is not locked behind any paywall.
I’d love to contribute to the community in a positive way. Please let me know if this is okay to post or if you need any further information from me.
