Akai Force Forum: Everything relating to the Akai Force, the new 64 pad, clip-based standalone sampler/groovebox from Akai. While not an MPC, it shares many similar software features to the MPC X/MPC Live including the same underlying code-base.

Can you turn midi loops into audio with Akai Force?

In Ableton this is called "freeze" / "flatten".

If you can do this, how is it done - Is it easy and reliable?

Thanks

Yes. This can be done by resampling. Open your sampler and set your sample source to Resample L+R.

Thanks, does it loop seamless or is there clicks?

Sharp drops/increases in waveform volume in a super short time frame cause clicks when looping.

Not that I have come across yet, But this is something that can be fixed by adjusting your envelope slightly after recording, especially when recording from live sources.

If you know what you're doing you can put fade in/out in... silence, etc...

*But* if you're looking for seamless looping of a tone for example... it'll sound off since at the loop point it won't be perfect and it will click or sound like a weird hiccup. For things that change volume such as drum hits, a lot of chords, often with pads... totally doable... but you'll definitely want to play around and see what sounds best to you.

New Force owner here but long time sample editor - if Force has a crossfade feature, use that to eliminate clicks and make a loop truly seamless.
