Akai Force Forum: Everything relating to the Akai Force, the new 64 pad, clip-based standalone sampler/groovebox from Akai. While not an MPC, it shares many similar software features to the MPC X/MPC Live including the same underlying code-base.

Is it possible to copy expansion packs from the internal SSD drive onto the SD card and then load onto another Force? Or do you need to go via a computer for special installation.

Thanks

Do you mean copy an internal factory expansion from an MPC to the Force? Or from one Force to another Force?

Anyway, not really possible, I guess you could load all the files from the expansion into memory and re-save as a complete project to an SD card and then convert it back to a proper expansion using this guide:

https://www.mpc-tutor.com/akai-force-tu ... xpansions/

But if you are going from an MPC then all those expansions are available in your Akai account as separate downloads, which you could use in the Force.

Maybe elaborate on exactly what it is you are trying to do.

A friend has some MPC expansion packs on his Force in the internal SSD and am wondering if these can be shared somehow by exporting within the Force onto an SD card, which could then be loaded onto another Force.

By internal SSD, do you mean he added an extra SSD drive to his Force using the SATA port on the underside of the unit? If so, then yes these can easily be copied from the SDD drive using Computer Mode. Once connected the SSD drive will appear as a standard removable drive on your computer, simply copy the 'Expansions' folder to an SD card and put it into your Force.

Copying directly from the SSD to an SD card isn't possible as I don't believe the Force has a 'copy folder' feature.

The expansions will be copied via computer mode but the authorisation occurs in the akai account holding the expansion downloads and the new copies will therefore not be authorised.
The expansions must be created directly from the akai account in order to function.

Expansions do not require authorisation. They can be copied with no limitations. Only the MPC software requires authorization.
