Akai Force Forum: Everything relating to the Akai Force, the new 64 pad, clip-based standalone sampler/groovebox from Akai. While not an MPC, it shares many similar software features to the MPC X/MPC Live including the same underlying code-base.

I'm moving to Linux is there any way to install expansions without using the MPC software because i had a bunch of hassle getting them onto my force?

I run linux/Ubuntu on my main laptop but when it comes to beats/DAW, I rec apple or windows. A new IPAD is prolly better than linux for padlife.

I keep a dell refurb with win10 & a Steinberg ur44 around just for beats. Since I have the MPC LIVE now, the laptop is not so important in my setup.

May I ask what distro u are using ????

Thanks for your answers guys, i was using ubuntu DokBrown because i'm a noob lol, but my install tanked(faulty disk) so i went back to windows. I enjoy using linux it's a shame that it's not more widely supported.

I WISH it was different but apple/windows dominate this space.
The software & driver support is not there.

There was this company called INDAMIXX.
I crossed paths with them back in 2010-2012.
they didn’t make it ;-(

I use Ubuntu / MINT for everything else . . . . . make sure the hardware is good to begin with. A lot of people put linux distros on trash hardware & expect it to work magic.
