When you record to Arranger, you are recording in linear real-time, so you don't hold a pad down that's launching a clip (does anyone do that)? As the transport records, any audio your Clip is playing is recorded to the Arranger timeline in real-time until you stop recording or stop Clip playback (or reach your loop end, which is a common mistake that noobs and pros make alike so turn off looping if you want your Arranger to record past the loop points).
And yes, once you record a take into Arranger, you can split, cut, copy, paste, edit, and move around sections in the Arranger timeline (on the track it is recorded on) just like you can in any DAW.
