External SSD - A few Questions

So I installed my own SSD to the Force. Should I now go in and somehow move all synths, presets, plugins onto the new SSD? And if so, how?

- And for the future how do I direct the force to recognize any new instruments, presets, plugins, etc?

Not sure I am asking those questions correctly, but I just bought a Force and want to make sure I set up the foundations of it correctly so I don't have a tangled mess to undo several months from now!

You don't have to move anything but, I you can. Someone said the synths load faster if you keep internal, but I don't know. Since the internal files system is "fragile" so I would make folders for synth/FX/Templates custom presets on the SSD/SD/USB drive.

Whatever you do, don't save your projects to the internal drive & don't delete the main folders & demo files. Akai should be more clear on what's safe to delete. If anything you can always ask them to send a reset file or whatever it's called, if you messed the internal files.

All the new stuff like plugins/FX should be saved there automatically. It just the files like projects, synth/FX presets & audio mixed-downs that you want to be sure is saved outside of the internal.

It's good to go thru the internal folders to get a sense of all of what's in there & to check if you saved anything that shouldn't be there. If you you find any you load them into the current project & save them else where. Where is another reason not to save things there.

The gen2 MPC & the hacked OS gives you better access to the internal files. Anyway once you get the hang of everything it's not that difficult to manage, but Akai could make some QoL improvements to their file management system.

Regarding speed: AFAIK everything sits behind the same slow internal USB bus or something, so whatever you put there, will be strangled and slowed down.
