Techniques to get snares really cracking?

the filters on the mp get the job done but they aint **** with the korg esx filters

In my experience, transient design makes the drums sound very samish if you use it too much, and on too many projects. So its good to variate the techniques you use.

its all about layering your sounds right, dont just take two snares and throw them together,
use sounds that will compliment each other, and envelope them so u get the parts u want to stand out..
