Im trying to work out how ot create different strumming patterns out of a sample and having quite some difficulty getting a coheseive sound.

So far I have found a sample where they strum for a whole bar only 4 times (once on every beat)

My plan has been to chop it up and copy the strums many times and then edit each copy and tune them.

Kind of long winded but I like the guitar sound in the sample, but the strumming pattern isnt to my liking or what Im after.

anyone had any luck with manipulating guitar samples like this?

Yeah. Are you saying that when you lay it down it sounds choppy? You need to have a sound of some sort cover that up.

Yeah, a bit more info please. But if you are trying to tune guitar chords using 16 levels it's really futile. Because the chords are made up of multiple notes with specific relationships, if you just try to tune the whole thing with 16 levels you mess up the relationships and rarely get a good sound. Hope that helps.

Im trying to adjust the rhythm of the playing .

If you imagine playing one downward strum per beat Im trying to chop it so tha it sounds as if a totally different rhtym was played.

hard to explain, I'll just keep plodding along and working on it

With good chops you can do that... takes some practice to extract the samples to seperate pads.

Set the samples from One Shot to Note On... adjust the decay/release... and set the program from mono to poly.

Should get you a good start to a better sound.
