Plug-ins are the sh*t but they are not all that necessary if your sampled sounds and keyboard sounds are good to begin with.I used just the plugs that came with Protools-LE and I saw no need to look any further.I tend to use plugs to add certain effects to tracks in a song like echo, reverb etc...Just remember that Plug-ins are CPU hogs so once you get the desired effect just copy the track with the plug-in in use and that way the plug-in is not running in the background while your trying to do your thing. Also check out the UAD-DSP boards. They are PCI based plug-ins that take all of he stress off of your CPU because all the processing is done on a PCI board. The plug-ins that come with them are top notch and they have everything you should need to make some grade A recordings.

I recently got my hands on the waves 3.5 when you get Pro-tools
they dont give you enough plugs it depends on the type of tracks
and the particular sound your looking for.
I went through the plugs in pro-tools and found that I didnt have
enough to achieve that desired sound. I would like to get my hands
on that McDsp and the USR tape saturation plugs for pro-tools
they want about $495.00 for the McDsp.
