Reverb / Delay Effect Processor for Drums

what reverb / delay effect-processor are you using for DRUMS??

good luck getting a straight answer from this mob

I'll leave the reverb to your personal taste and judgment on the track you plan to process...

On the delay FX I'll give you a quick rule of thumb: get it locked to the tempo of your samples/song.

Then start experimenting: there are no real NO-NO... if not (but again that's me) avoiding to have a delayed snare falling right on top of a kick, or the opposite. Why? Try it... you like the sound?!?

Use your ears and do some math: if Kick is on ONE and Snare is on TWO, if you delay Kick of 1/4 it WILL FALL on the TWO time. Got it?

In my case, if any reverb is to be used, it'll more than likely come from s/w (waves true verb or supertap).

But if hardware is to be used, I like to go with a Lexicon MPX-1 or an Alesis Q2.

Akai EB16 But usually I use the reverb thats in the sample already. I also use IR Reverb (SIR) when I'm on PC.

For what it concerns me I stick to the FXs of Free JJOS on my MPC1K (the usual suspects) + the ASTONISHING FXs on my 303!

I also have a pletora of VST which I can host on a DAW (Reaper, Audacity... got more), BUT I ALMOST NEVER USE THEM, and when I do, ONLY on the final stereo track.

That's what you should be using then. Makes no difference what anyone else uses, although most people are probably using software as it's cheaper and more convenient.

I got a DSR78 and a AD202 if that says anything. I rather not use to much reverb on my drums, especially the kick.

yeah for hardware units I am curious too... because that is one thing I dont own any of...

software lately I was using true verb (waves) sometimes on the NY plate setting but not fully wet in most cases.. I guess it depends on the situation and sample.... but I rarely stick to one thing either way.
