If I have my Master Level set to -6dB....

when i normalize a sample will it peak just below -6dB or will it always peak jus below 0db?

if this is a stupid question..what can i say? im just try to learn my shit.

the 2 are unrelated, its just a master output.. its like asking if you normalize with the main volume knob turned down will it effect how the sample is normalized..

When you normalize the function has it's own settings for the ceiling and is not related to the output fader settings in your DAW as pointed out earlier.
