Capturing chord progression of a sample.

I dunno if I put it right. I know Logic can capture pitch from a given audio, so I assume other DAW also has this function. Anyway, this is great in theory, but I simply don't know how to use it yet ,cus there is a lot of important stuff. Anybody tried it? Any opinions?

I'm old school, I go with using my ear to figure out chord progressions.
