thats where im at. i definately would like to chop on computer, i think id be able to do it faster, but the transfer of the chops to the mpc is way too slow. i loose the momentum. plus i havent found a likeable program to chop in. i always feel less experimental on the computer.....dunno
i feel like the potential is there to really take advantage of the computer and chop on there, but it never seems to pan out for me, either i dislike the workflow of the editor, or i get discouraged for the transfer time and just end up doing it directly on mpc anyways.
the reason the mpc irritates me is that on the mpc my sampling is more destructive. i might sample a small bit from a random record, unless i keep track of all my records, tracks, samples, if i want to go back to the original sample, i gotta remember all that shit. on the computer, if im choppin, its usually from a whole track, so i immediately have an archive of the original track. im an unorganized kind of dude though, so that shit gets me. i guess i feel more organized on the computer, but i loose experimentations and randomness on the computer.
