hey.

i have a small mackie mixer. i've found that bringing the mpc in via the Mic-pre's brings it up to a better level.

i've been mixing the mpc in in mono, just panning hard right on the mpc's own mixer.

does this make any sense? it sounds good but?

[i would bring in via the stereo channels if it came in so convincingly]

elsewhere here i read of people using pre-amps to handle the mpc's output. i'm presuming this is because it outputs at quite a low level? i'm never tempted to push the mpc's main volume past 1 or 2 o'clock....

any feedback appreciated.

I have the exact same setup

The mpc puts out at such a low level because it needs to be amplified

you run your mpc into the mixer..... then the control room outs of the mixer go into your power amp....the power amp into the speakers and whala... sound! great sound!

If you dont have an amp into the speakers and just run the outs on the mixer str8 to the speaker then the sound will be super duper low

hope this helps ... if not ... try rephrasing your questions

hey KappNeffect.

thanks very much for this!

so the MPC needs more "Gain" is that right? straight out of the box it doesn't output "hot" enough?
(just trying to get my head round the studio terms)

what about the Mono aspect? do you see this as a problem? i know people often mix separate elements in in mono but? i am often tapping some of the MPC signal "Parallel" via send/return to my little lexicon reverb unit and that pulls the stereo field out some.

many thanks. kind of feeling my way in the dark a bit. any other contributions very welcome.

does anyone know whether the gain output on the mpc 2500 is enough to run straight into a mixer without going through a pre-amp?

The MPC is Line output, so yes of course it is enough to run it straight to a mixer.

Did you guys know that you can boost the Master Out level of the 2500 by quite bit? It can be set in one of the setting screens.

that's brilliant thank you for confirming that.

i've been on JJOS for a couple of years now. is it available on that too?

is it ok to have the main volume knob turned right up? will the output distort?

I don't know if it's on JJOS, but there's no reason why not.
