...no one gives a f*** because no one is going to alter the way they express themselves according to government. There are too many loopholes in the decision, and it's completely unrealistic. This decision was made with no forethought of the ramifications. I'm NOT clearing a bass note, a snare, a hi-hat, a horn, NONE of that. If you really want to business-wise about, just ignore the major labels. I don't need them. Do any of us NEED the headaches, lies, poor accounting skills, slowness of these majors these days? Look at the industry landscape. A "record deal" is almost a completely outmoded idea for today's young artist, who has a wealth of knowledge and technological resources at their disposal so there is no NEED to place oneself at the mercy of their profit-based fears. Be happy with 20,000 sold! Resist the majors and find fulfillment in touching fans, not lawyers and stockholders who would tell Dr. Dre to drop Rakim!
Besides, a decision like this will be contested by SOMEONE. It's just too unrealistic. I will NOT clear a snare!
