Matching your own sequance to a sampled loop...

I sampled a real nice loop (using cool Edit pro 2.0) but the tempo was like 120BPM which is fine if I was makin house/garage - I'm finding it really hard and time consuming to strech it down in Cool Edit ready to load onto my mpc and start freakin it at the BPm I want. Any hints/tips ?

chop it up

The timestretch in the mpc gives you nasty artifacts after 10/-10 % stretching. If you need to stretch more than that then you should use some kind of software..

use acid and make sure you set the sample rate higher because the preset sample rate is low as **** so set it high even if it takes up ur cpu.

Are you familiar with Propellerhead ReCycle? This program will chop it up for you and create a midi file, so you can just save it to a zip disk and load it into the MPC. It took me about 10-15 minutes to use it the first time, and I couldn't believe how easy and great it was.

Or you can load it into the Mpc and then adjust the pitch in the trim screen. Quick and simple

try jackin that shit in ableton. the groove markers are similar to recycle. but you can change up the feel of the loop. if you wanna leave it as one file and note slices. it will be tighter and wont lose sync if you chop it and resequence. using str8 loops on the mpc can be a headache at times.

I ended up cutting it in Cool edit into much smaller sections and it worked! Thanks peeps!
