And to be honest, there are more then a dozen cans that can out perform at half the price.

What you should really be looking for is bang for buck.

If you got $350 to spend, start thinking about cans with the best response time, with proper masking eq, noise efficiency, and minimal ear fatigue. There are a so many out there that will fit your needs.

In addition, please for the love of god, don't fall for the marketing schemes. I never ever ... ever, vouch for a company or get caught up with brand. There is nothing you can do with an freeware Aurdino board, MAX/MC, and some knowhow.

Beats are good, but overpriced. They also aren't good for monitoring as they don't give an accurate response, more likes an awesome sounding one, but it'll be inaccurate. Do some research, there's actually a forum, head-fi, all about headphones. Kinda ridiculous but they know there shit. Also CNET does quality reviews of headphones so its good to check those out
