high quality turntable needle

i got a technics 1200 which I only really use to sample from into my mpc 2000 or protools through my mbox.

however i was reading an interview with dj shadow who recommends not sampling with a dj needle as they help you gain compression but loose a lot of the upper and lower frequencies as it is maximising the volume you're getting out of the needle. He says he uses a nice hi-fi needle such as an Audio Technica.

i was wondering if anyone could recommend a good high quality needle to sample with and if there is any particular dj mixer which warms up the sound.

i dont know bout warm up sound unless u a go blow some ganja smoke on it zeeeeen, but i hear concorde needles are good. about £90. about $170. thier output is hot as ever. but not good for back spins, in no time you wont have a needle left as they wear very quickly under pressure like dat zeeeeen

I go for Pickering needle for djing and their sound boost and Concorde Nightclubs for sampling.
If you pick up a hi-fi needle, use it only for sampling or you'll ruin it scratching.

track masters by stanton all very good needles they got the bast sound, i fyou notice top power mix club dj's use these because they have high quality sound . people say there not that good but thats cause they try to scratch with them , but like i said there for mixing and if your just going to sample then they will last a long time.
i've been using these for years, very reliable needles concorde are scratch needle to so you will probably lose freq, there.
but i recommend stanton track masters i got four ,one for each table i own.

shure whitelabel.....just gotta get to the store. ill let you all know....I decided on this one because i know im just gonna sample; however, i know how i work with my records....if i get a hifi i know im gonna **** shit up and ruin the needle. I settled for a happy medium of durability and quality (not to sound like an add) but seriously thats what i need.

I figure there wont be that big of a differance (at least for my tastes) as i also clean my records with Gruv Glide.

BTW. KID definately use gruv glide its worth the money for a cleaner sound.

Oh and all the djs ive talked to in person, have said "eliptical stylus" for a better sound, however, i have yet to find a non hifi one that has eliptical with out costing a million dollars. But the recomendations i get are the shure whitelabel.........my scratch buddies use the m44s
