When I upload a song onto youtube or myspace it sounds disto

To be more specific the kick drum I use sounds distorted. It sounds like it went through a tube.. (sorry, thats the best way i can explain it.) I dont hear it at all when im using it on my mpc or after I load it in my pc. But its when I upload it onto youtube or myspace that the sound becomes present. Ive experimented with different kick drum sounds with the low pass freq at 20, no Reso. And without the low pass filter on, and I still hear this tube-like effect. Im not sure what to do anymore, and any help would be greatly appreciated. Cause this one problem is making not want to do this anymore..

^^^^ what he said. It sounds like it's being compressed somewhere. Keep trying you'll figure it out.....& never give up!

This is how you start understanding the needs of eq'n & mastering your material.

Right now in it's raw form, your music will sound the way you discribed. And until it goes through the proper processes, it's going to always sound that way unfortunately.

Thanks for the input everyone, much appreciated. Well, it seems that the sound is only present on my laptop? lol.. I went to listen to the same track on my desktop in the other room and it sounds fine. But when I go back to listen to it on my laptop I hear that sound again. I almost want to say its my laptop, but.. as I posted earlier, when my sounds from my mpc are loaded onto it, it sounds like it should. But only when its uploaded to youtube and myspace I hear the kick drum distorting through my laptop. Even more so, when I plug up my headphones or my KRK's to it I hear it. But when I hook them up to my desktop instead, i dont. So, if anyone of you had listened to the track you probley didnt hear what I was talking about. Well, if this is the case then im somewhat what relieved. I just use my laptop so often that I thought if the sound is messed up on here, its gotta be messed up no matter what source it goes through.. So I apologize for not researching this problem further outside of my laptop. (Ill return to using my mpc now ^^.) But just out of curiousity, has anyone else encounterred a similiar problem? Or did you infact hear what I was talking about?

Question, is there one sound card being used between both computers, or are you using the generic built in onboard cards as your main audio I/O's?

Because that in itself will answer why your audio sounds the way it does.
