well, I've been on reaper all day an I have to say I'm extremely happy with it. I don't wanna count all my chickens or anything but so far it's been totally straight forward. I suppose I made the humble comment because of reading/ watching interviews, looking at peoples studios and also because I've had my turntables for 14 years, an the mpc came CHEAP a few years back, the only thing I've bought since then is komplete elements which was like 40 euros I think. I could never ever see myself without my mpc, I'm at the point now where I never have to look down at the buttons to see what I'm pressing an I've always been a fan of the copy seq copy seq copy seq track mute track mute track mute song convert way of building a track but I can see why people forget about sampling, I only got komplete elements recently but I haven't even thought about sampling and chopping since. I know I'll get back into it though once this learning curve is settling down. I can see me pretty much always sampling drums and chopping loops and then using plug ins to compliment or add variety to things if I can't quite find the record that has some ermmm, glokenspiel on it or whatever...
