hit songs created using MPC's / famous producers that use MP

I recently read that was also made with a MPC4000, ...and some other stuff..

Anything The-Dream has made recently would've used an MPC. For drums and sequencing his Fantom. Kanye West uses one, as evidenced by his performance at that awards show, pushing buttons live. You might be able to find supporting articles online about Mark Ronson using an MPC to sketch out rough ideas for his albums, though I'm sure now he's more popular he just gets musicians to replay whatever he beatboxes/hums/plays or whatever.

most r&b and hip hop songs during the late 80's until software came out were done on a MPC.

I believe Michael Jackson used the MPC60 for Billie Jean. Even the 3000 later on.

even though I have no real clue... and never looked into it... I always suspected those drums went through a 60.

The 60 wasn't even out when Billie Jean was made. Jacko just played a version of it from a 60 in his home studio in that infamous documentary.

well I thought that too... like somebody mentioned that stuff in the late 80's was made on the 60 however.... maybe some people wound up with a prototype or a demo run if they were famous kind of almost like promo for akai. You know how plenty of 3500's were floating around and they never even changed the name yet when those got handed out?

Ginuwine, Aaliyah, destiny's child, missy, all that type of stuff. Probably added some keys and soundmodule sounds, but I bet most of the drums and some of the sampled beats were done with the mp.

combinations of racksamplers and software sequencers were common too (s950/s1000 and mac or atari sequencer software).

i've heard some bands implement an MPC (usually newer models ie1000, 2500, 4000) in their live perfomances to play other instruments that they may not have enough hands to play themselves (tambourines and other random sounds/instruments)

as someone posted below, Kanye has made the MPC famous (60 minutes clip LOL and at the last awards show) and jermaine dupri uses the mpc a lot, which he has videos posted on youtube of him creating using the mpc60, i believe.

just a small list of well known MPC users (which they are literally hundreds and hundreds)

The drums in billie Jean were tracked live by N'dugu Chancler.

tons of producers made hit songs on mpc's

timbaland used an asr-10 for almost all of his songs. when he started working with Danja in 2006, Danja was using the MPC 4000 heavy.

Danja has made a lot of hit songs with the MPC 4000
