Starting a first serious musical Project (any tips)

Have u guys got any tips on how you coped writing your first project ,anything???

My advice is to write whatever inspires you each day and it don't have to be 16 bars, it can be 4 bars of your greatest writings. But have at least some material in the lyric department.

have a theme and stick to it, and dont let every song sound the same all the way through

start a billion songs but only finish the ones that make you feel something
never finish a song just because you've put a lot of time in on it already and don't want to have wasted that time...i was working on a song for the last track on WBL that was my answer to Ennio Morricone's "Ecstacy of Gold" (scene where Tuco is running through the graveyard trying to find the hidden treasure in "Good Bad Ugly") but quit like 3 minutes into it. that **** was intense and orchestral but i couldn't finish it and didn't want to botch it so i stashed it instead...

Well I have far too many unfinished tracks to be of much help Cosmic, but I suppose a gameplan would help?
