keeping the onboard Realtek EQ Setting??

On my Realtek sound card, i have this preset called "Powerful", i've got a beat going in FL studio that i've been brainstorming for a couple of days and I really really like how it sounds with the "Powerful" setting on.

Is there anyway I can keep this sound for this beat when i turn the setting off? Like could I re-sample it somehow while the "Powerful" setting is on, then record/resample it and turn the setting off and still have the setting applied to the recorded beat/file?

(almost like being able to keep the wet signal, after turning the sound card to normal)

any ideas?

I'm not sure what you'd do there, does your PC have separate mic and phone jacks, or are they a combo 1/8" jack? If it's 2 jacks you could physically feed the phone's output to the mic input.

I gotta ask though, are you using the Realtek instead of the ASIO4All driver included in FL? The ASIO4All performs much better, and you could likely duplicate the "Powerful" Realtek preset using FL's superior EQ's and compressors.

put a soundgoodizer on the master channel

A: creating a profile

0. Start with a complete empty FL (no fx in any channel etc)
1. create a noise file using EDISON (rec mode NOW. hit rec button wait 5 seconds then stop. select all rightclick on waveform select create noise)
2. Put this noise sound into a sampler channel of FL
3. Route this sampler channel to mixer channel 1 and set the input on this channel to none
4. select mixer channel 2 and set the input of this channel to realtec line in (or something like that ) and the output to none
5a. insert EDISON into one of the fx slots of mixer channel 2 and set rec mode to on input

5b. Hardware time: connect line out of your soundcard to line in

6. hit rec button in edison
7. click on the waveform in the sampler channel and wait till it stops
8. click stop in edison.

You should now have a noise wave with the frequency characteristics of the soundcard output.

9. Save this file named as "EQ profile" or something like that.


B: Using the profile on any audio

1. reset the cable on your soundcard
2. Set the EQ of your soundcard to flat
3. Download Cockos reaplugs bundle http://www.reaper.fm/reaplugs/
4. Install this to your FL VST folder
5. Open FL
6. Insert ReaFIR into fx slot 8 of the master channel
7. Click the Wrapping settings button of the PlugIn, select PROCESSING and enable "process inactive input blabla"
8. back to the plugin UI window by hitting Wrapping settings again
9. Choose Mode: Substract and cenable "Automatically build blabla"
10. Set the FFT site to 32768
11. create a sampler channel and load the file "EQ profile" wave you've created before. Enable normalize in the Sampler channel
12. click on the waveform of the sampler channel

The ReaFIR should now create a new analyzed frequencyline

13. Select Mode: EQ
14. Hold CTRL, click into the freq analyze window and drag the freq line up so it nearly hit the edge of the analyze window
15. save this setting as a preset with the name powerful EQ or something like that.

ready to test


Load one of your projects, insert the ReaFIR in the master channel, load the EQ profile preset and you should get the sound of the soun dcard EQ without using the soundcard EQ
If the plugin is to CPU hungry you can turn the plugin off and only turn it on when you exporting your project as wave.

@Metatron72, I just have the Primary Driver selected in Fl studio. Im using just the demo of it, i use it for brainstorming when i dont feel like plugging everything up like the mixer and speakers and mpc

I agree. I almost wanna say- that you should never make any adjustments in EQ (or anything else for that matter) at the sound card level because it's not an accurate reflection of your mix. Just my 2 cents
